My mares mane is very thin and so is her forelock, thats almost non-existent. Her mane rubbed off a lot last winter and I managed to get it to grow back and this winter we managed to stop the same happening so far up her neck. Although it is very thin and wispy. I cut off the hair by her withers as it was terribly wispy

Is there anything that will encourage growth or thickening, her tail is fine.

I plaited it over the other day to get it on the right side

Any ideas????

Id recommend trying Shapleys MTG. I originally got it to treat a skin problem but after reading the bottle it said it helps hair growth. Tried it on my mares mane and it worked a treat.

Megatek rebuilder from tailgator.co.uk - best stuff you will ever buy. Rub into roots daily at first and comb through.

When it starts to thicken you can then mix it 50 - 50 and rub in and comb through two or three times a week.

Don't brush or comb it any more than you need to. If you need to shorten it, use one of the clippersharp rakes rather than pulling - you can get very good results with them.
