A message to the girls in the gallery at Onley yesterday who were so rude about the bay roan cobby pony with the white face when she entered the arena.....please remember Thumper's dad's advice..."If you can't think of nuffin' nice to say, don't say nuffin' at all!"

Your words came over nice and clear on the video, have reduced a very proud child to tears and please bear in mind that although no oil painting the pony is much loved and actually went on to win the class. You can't judge a book by its cover. Etc.

I for one will comment on how lovely it is, even if it has 3 legs & 2 heads, then without showing the child this thread just show them the other thread with us all being complimentary, to back up what I'm sure you've already said about those witches at the show just being rude.

I'm always very careful when watching at sidelines as u don't know who u are standing next to. .....not that I stand there criticising! Those girls should have known better. Maybe your husband should have mentioned it to them.

This!!!! We used to get this all the time- not so much about our ponies but about the stock trailer we transported them around in. Used to come out with a red frilly to "....and then only came out of that cattle trailer"

I remember some snotty little girl tutting at my son for not being able to get his horse over a jump(the mother stood looking at her spoilt mirror image with such proudness, for a change I was speechless). My son and I did laugh as fortunately we saw the funny side and were pleased we had better manners than spoilt brat daughter.

But I too would love to see the little cobby and I think its marvellous. (plenty of cob lovers on here).

The words...."Dare to be different" and of course "he who dares, wins".

Come on we want to see the little star of the show now? Good luck to them.

Didn't want to say on the pic thread, but I was prepared for a pony that wasn't exactly attractive, but we'd all say 'cute' for your child's sake. However, I wasn't just being polite, she is lovely looking as well as being a real cracker. I would bet a lot of money on it being complete jealousy on behalf of those silly hags.

Commented on the other thread before I saw this one. As the pony won her class, it just goes to show that the nasty little witches couldn't spot a good horse if it sat on them.

Didn't want to post this on the thread with pics. Pony is lovely, very quirky looking but obviously (if you don't mind me saying!) is rocking more of a unique look rather than the pretty pony flicky toes variety. I'm not a fan of the pretties myself! But IMHO, there is nothing better than coming out on a pony that looks 'average' and beating all the spangly looking ones, something I certainly enjoyed as a kid.

I hope you don't mind me saying any of the above, it's not meant in a mean way!!

I saw the picture thread before this one, so my comment was totally genuine. I would put money on the horrid girls being jealous.

Not saying others comments weren't genuine by the way!
