Since having Mr Toby and being at my new yard I have got on with him sooo well he has been just perfect for me really has, but I too want to get on and do lots more with him rather than just pootle about really, I really would love a yard that does shows (even if it's yard only) just for fun or an equestrian centre where they hold regular clinics that I can do, been on a yard like that before and I didn't stop learning and riding with the clinics they held.

I can't seem to find anywhere close enough that does anything like that which is a shame as I really want to get on.

If anyone know's of any place's near Colchester that isn't a million miles away then I am all ears lol :)

The only yard locally that runs shows regularly is the Garrison at Fordham. Tiptree Equestrian Centre have dressage and SJ in the evenings, and instructors on site - but not sure whether they just take working liveries.

Do you have your own transport?

Good on you for feelin good and confident about you and your horsie :D
Ide be intrested to find somewhere like this too! (I'm in Witham!) The lovely yard I'm at now, Grouts, in Tolleshunt d'arcy do a show throughout the summer, just a fun jumping thing! Other than that.. finchingfield ec, i know they do some stuff and tiptree ec too possibaly!

Think most of the one's that hold events are always full :(
I have tried Stratford Hills and Garrison - they all have a waiting list too..
Tiptree EQ I went to see and erm... not quite for me that one lol

I love the yard I am on don't get me wrong they are all lovely lovely people so friendly approachable and YO is great too so it's not about the yard it's more the activities for me and Toby really, sadly I do not have my own transport as yet...I am after getting a trailer next year (have the disco for towing so no issues there).

I would go to Part livery too if it meant being on a really lovely yard, not so worried about neatness too much so long as it's safe for both of us.

Just an idea, has the yard got an arena or anything, could be worth seeing if any of the other liveries would be interested in having a clinic and organising some yourselves, could well be that they would be interested, even if just have a few at first and see how it goes, and perhaps organise some little shows between yourselves?

Your only other option would be to move to a yard with some like minded people who have transport. Or find someone with transport nearby.

Shame my horse isn't up for competing at the moment, as I'm not far away from you and I have my own lorry. :D

I'd love to load him up and go off to a clinic somewhere (wix eq) ??? but I have set times that I can be on or off the yard so this wouldn't be viable either I wouldn't have thought, especially if they hold evening clinics..

Yes we have a lovely school and liveries all get on too which is rare BUT really really good :)
we spoke last week about us holding a little fun show (just for liveries), but doubt it will happen though sadly :(

Keep pushing for the show, type up a schedule they will properly appriecate (sp!!) it. Once you get doing something it will prop keep up, would be a shame to move yards really in case not everyone gets on as well, espicially if you can get transport next year.
