Think I may soon lose my dog

Glad to hear he’s feeling better. The rollercoaster with older dogs is awful isn’t it! Fingers crossed he’s with you for a good while longer.

Glad by the time I have caught up with this thread, that things have improved. Thinking of you at this difficult time, it’s the last kindness we do for them, but hard to find the right moment.

Glad to hear there has been an improvement and hope you have more quality time left together PL.

So sorry you’re going through similar DS. It really is the hardest decision to make. If only they’d go peacefully in their sleep.

I’m sorry PL, my old lab is now 14 and is in a similar position. He’s eating, drinking, continent and keen to go for his geriatric 20min toddle.
But he’s on painkillers and in Kidney failure, it won’t be long - it weighs heavily on your mind every single hour

Back to his old self today- relief, but realise I wont have him for much longer . When he goes the spaniel will be the only dog and she will not cope well with that she is quite clingy with me too.
Sometimes I think a parrot would have been better as they are usually very long lived !

Glad to hear things are looking more positive, I've possibly got a decision day coming up tomorrow with my boy, who having been well on the way to recovered from a pelvis issue reinjured himself last week when a bloody off lead terrier tried attacking him from behind. Chiro came out yesterday to treat and he got in such a state and so tensed up she couldn't get it corrected. She's back in the morning and will try again with him having had some diazapan but if it doesn't work and she can't treat him then there isn't really an option left.
