THink i need help and Advice on my Lurcher

@FeeC Could you find one or two people with non-aggressive dogs who would share the cost of hiring an enclosed dog field?

ETA. If you post again about your dog, there is an All About Dogs section and you might get more replies if you post there.
Im really on my own, not got friends round about. Whats the name of the dog only sight please.

I have a high prey drive zero recall lurcher and I genuinely feel your pain. Went through everything you’ve described. Considered rehoming at one point too. I paid a trainer for weeks and honestly it was no help. Things that saved me were
Using a muzzle in public
A weekly or fortnightly trip to paid open field. I was lucky I had a friend to take us whose dog was good with her silly ways. A spaniel.
Accepting the lawn will have holes the local cats must be discouraged at all costs and good fencing an essential.
I also gave myself permission to not walk her sometimes when I was too stressed by her behaviour.
I luckily also joined a sight hound dog walking group where they were all kept on leads. Huge help ( mainly greyhounds)
If you’re on Facebook there are a few lurcher groups on there who have seen it all before and can be very supportive.
Also recommend Kiko pup on you tube. Emily is brilliant.
Meg is seven now. Six years of learning so far.

Im so glad im not the only one with this problem. He drives me nuts sometimes but he's so loving as well, and he tries to please, it's just when he gets hyped up which doesn't take much. Thanks for your input.

Try to teach a command to dispel the madness. Mine will still have zoomie moments indoors and that’s okay for a bit, but when I say settle down, I mean it, and he curls up on the sofa. Maybe your word will combine with him licking a cheese from a Primula tube?
