In the sheath area. They're quite small, both sides of the sheath and there's probably 5 altogether. Horse is 3,so not sure if it's viral warts, so will get the vet.
But in the meantime has anybody any experience of this?

My old TB had bad sarcoids on his sheath and chest. They were a nightmare to keep clean in summer when the flies got to them (the flies eat the skin and open up the sarcoid) so I had to coat his sarcoids in purple spray and let that dry then I would cover it in fly gel/wound gel to protect him.

Other than the flies they didn't bother him at all.

Going through this at the moment. My rising 4 year old gelding has had one on his sheath for about 18 months or so, but with the change of coat this year they have started springing up in other places :(

I'm using homeopathy at the moment. His mum had them around her udder at a similar age and I used the 'Liverpool' cream. It got rid of them but made her very sore, so bearing in mind where the youngster has them, I've decided to try and treat them non-invasively first as the thought of using caustic cream near his poor man bits is making me cringe

My vet has seen them and has agreed that we try the gentle way first. If it doesn't work then we will review the treatment.

At the moment he is on Thuja cream and pills, and I'm also giving him Sarc-ex as a 'belt and braces' approach.

Pesky things give me sleepless nights

Get the vet at once and review the treatment options.
One of mine had them they have been treated and fingers crossed he's clear at the moment.

I used global herbs sarcex it was fantastic . Within about a month all his sarcoids disappeared , one on his tumny was very big it has left a scare where it was but none have ever returned . My boys a light weight tb .

Mine had 2 nodular sarcoids on his girth area, only small but took 2 rounds of liverpool cream to get rid of them. He also had 3 more in different places, one or more was a different type, started with a v but would have to check his vet notes. They weren't really a problem other than they were on the girth.

My friends horse looks horrific - bunches of grapes between his front legs which started when he was about 10 - he is now 25 and only retired 2 years ago. She had any problems ringed when need be but don't panic.

Get your vet out. They can send pics to Liverpool for their advice if they are sarcoids: they really are the best people to speak to.
My boy had several sarcoids, sheath, between the legs... the worst being a periocular one (on the eyelid). He was treated, from Liverpool, via my vet, with BCG vaccs (particular to the periocular type but not suitable for other areas), very successfully..and during the treatment all the others disappeared.
Let's just hope it's warts on your boy :)

I would start feeding NAF D-tox in higher doses. Ts alters the immune system and help to fight the problem.

I have used this on several horses with a great deal of success.
