I dont know why my spaniel has such dreadful teeth. She came as a rescue with half of them gone and a good proportion of those left loose. Since then she has been to the vet twice to have more removed. She was 7 when I got her and I wonder why her teeth are so awful. My 13 year old has beautiful teeth and I never touched them and he never had to have anything done by the vet.
Shes got three at the front bottom jaw and two of the canine teeth left. I think these canine teeth are not healthy, they are a grey brown colour.SHe makes plaque and tartar at an alarming rate. I got really upset at the last 5 she had out, and if she loses the rest I think she will have her tongue hanging out all the time. SHe doesnt give an indication of pain but then she didnt when i got her. I think because I cant explain to her why she has them out I feel Im mutilating her.

If they're manky and need pulling, then they need pulling. Rotten teeth cause so many issues, besides pain and bad breath they cause infections, and can cause damage to the organs in the rest of the body.
She'll feel much better when they're out and will soon adapt :)
