Think my pony has gone mad! :)

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share this with you and get your thoughts and opinions please!
Has my pony gone mad?
I rode him out yesterday and he was fine... Then bathed him, put his fleece on him and put him in the outdoor school to dry off.
He rolled a few times then proceeded to gallop around the school bucking.
The next thing i knew he jumped out of the school, into a field and galloped round it bucking like a lunatic!! Took me about 15 mins to be able to catch him as he wouldnt come near me!
What on earth could have caused this behavour?? Please help!

What did you bath him with? Was it his usual 'shampoo'?

You havent had him long and looking at previous posts it seems he has sweet itch, so two things really firstly could he be sore or stinging from whatever you washed him in, did you rinse properly?? secondly it is rather cold to be bathing now he cold have got very cold and been feeling grumpy about that.

Oh god - now i feel really bad!!
It was a different shampoo than usual, one that was recommended for itchy skin, poor boy!!

Dont feel bad about it, at least you know the reason. I would just use a product like kilitch for now, but do test a small area as sometimes they can be very sensitive and it will make them worse. There is a fair amount of trial and error with sweet itch to find what will work best.
