Came down yard at about 8 to find him laying down looking very sorry for himself and covered in shavings

He had eaten his breakkie but his bed was all over the place. He had done a few poos but not as many as normal (or his bed was so churned up I couldnt find them

).

So, went down at lunch to check on him and take him for a walk and he was better. He had done more poos and was looking much brighter. Took him for a spot of grass and he was happy to be out but scared by the wind

.

Called vet for a chat and have to split his feeds down even further so he has little and often (had 4 feeds at the mo but has to have more) Suggested get a couple more balls to put his feed in.

Hes also sending me some bute to give him twice a day for the next month.
Isnt bute bad for them long term

Sorry to hear about possible colic. Surely another day notched up on the calendar is a good thing?

Think lots of horses are on long term bute.

Went to check my girls last night and was alarmed to see Rose sweated up (she is in foal so I am a bit paranoid) but she was just plain hot! I rootled around in the tack room and managed to find her fleece to put on instead and she was fine.

Hope he is OK

Hi Moonwalker- have you thought about switching to Danilon? It is a painkiller like bute but is better for their tummies. I switched my horse on to it when he started having to have a painkiller every other day for his arthritis. You should ask your vet about swopping
