Feel a bit torn at the mo, as you know my boy is to be PTS in the next few weeks so all I want to do at the mo is spend some quality time with him

Thing is there is so much cr@p going on at the yard that I don't want to be there and I feel as though I can't spend any time with him. It's making me more and more angry as I only have this time left.
Have been looking at yards to move to but obviously will have to move after he is gone but am so worried as there are alot of memories of him at my present yard and worried I will regret moving

What would you do?

Do spend the time with your horse. I know it is so very hard. You need to think of your horse/you at this time. Try to ignore what is going on and concentrate on what you want. You can't do a rewind once your horse has gone - speaking from experience!!! I still hate the people for takeing the final hours from me. I came close to ramming the pitch fork in someone and had to move.
See how you feel after. Give yourself time as your emotions will be raw.

I think maybe see how you feel after your poor horse goes. (SO sorry to hear this, it must be hell).

You probably have enough going on with your horse ATM so maybe it is not the best time to make a decision.

Either that or move all horses to another yard now so you have lots of quality time to spend with your boy. (Moving could be stressful for your horse though if he is sick).
Go with your gut feeling.

I had one horse put down on the Wednesday, then moved the other one to another yard on the Saturday. I didn't feel I wanted to be on the same yard as my horse was shot. It was traumatic enough without walking past the place it happened every day. Also the people including the yard owners were absolutely horrid. I would say move, you can have a fresh start with your other horse then.

When I lost my horse I threw all my energies into the one remaining and I wasn't going to let any unpleasantness stop me from enjoying our time together. Moving was the right thing for us and I never regretted it.

One last thing. If you can let your other horse see your horse after he has gone if they are friends. Makes it easier to accept and understand for them I think.

I would say to try and blank the cr$p out as best as you can and just spend time with your horse, then when its time for him to go to sleep, and you feel that its right then move and take all your memories of him to the new yard. He'll follow you wherever you go anyway.

You have enough on your plate at the moment to think about moving.
Just enjoy the time you have left with him.
