To the winter, and what to feed my very good doer sec D. At the moment he has good doer chaff, equibites and 24/7 turnout on a starvation paddock, due to him being overweight. I want a feed that'll give him a bit more umpf, without to many calories, (if there is such a thing). He gets ridden an hour a day weather permitting.

When I've had Ds in the past I have noticed that if you follow the recommended amount charts on various feeds it is too much for them and they turn into porky pigs. I would say investigate options with manufacturers but feed with caution.

i'd just pop a very very basic cool mix in his feed to give him umph but just keep it minimal for the amount of energy u need then work up from there and stick to the low calorie chaffs to keep them down!
