Don't like any of them sorry, the coloured can't be registered surely?

Get your self to the sales and buy some thing with abit more quailty. I wish these people who buy the poor ones and then sell them on for a bob more wouldn't.

Sorry, read the advert abit more carefully(!) take back the coloured comment. Just bare in mind for that 'dealer' to make profit would of brought them for meat money. You could get a cracking yearling for that price at the sales.

Definitely wouldn't be looking at the coloured, it looks a bit ropey to me. Was considering sending her to look at the bay though, he didn't look too bad.
She just wants something for her and my sisiters to bring on and (hopefully) turn into a kids pony in a few years.

£400 can buy you something very nice. I bought my pride and joy at the New Forest Sales last summer as a yearling colt, he's pretty well bred with Furzey lines, he was one of the most well grown yearling, yes, he was the dearest colt but still not much over £200. I'm hoping he'll make 14.2HH. Remember if you get a colt to budget a few hundered for his cut.

they are a forum member on here. i know that the nf's colt where selling for as little as £30 at the sales a few weeks ago. i think if you have £400 to send go to the sales and buy direct. you'll get something alot nicer for your money. the welsh sales are coming up.

I heard today (from someone that lives in the forest) that some of the forest has got strangles (only in certain areas) so buying from the sales now may not be best as all the ponies are rounded up from everywhere and mixed up so they may catch it. The guy i spoke to said prob best to buy from a breeder who knows roughly where their ponies roam. And if you get one keep it seperate for a while when you get it home. Just be carefull really! It might not be true but cant think why he would of lied!

PMSL.....

thank you for the pm HM...no you havent offended me....

general reply to all.......

as for the coloured looking "ropey"..he's fluffy and filthy..but not ropey..

i only buy colts by certain stallions from the forest..if that makes them poor quality, then you should see whats left behind by me at the sale.

my Ad's are well worded, explaining the difference between buying a P/B..Red passport and a full forester..Green passport..unlike a few "dealers" on HorseMart.

the blue and white is obviously NOT a newfie..as it says inthe advert...

thanks forester

ETS...ForgetMeNot...NONE of those ponies were bought for anywhere near meat money..or i'd be taking them to Potters myself.

i dont think they look to bad, you can see they are straight out the sale ring and of the forest, the prices are reasonable, i would be interested to know which stallions sired them if you look on http://www.nfstallions.info/ it will give you an idea

[/ QUOTE ]

i can tell you the Stallions.....

2 x Buckland Cruiser
1 x Warren Playaway
1 x Furzey Lodge Benjamin..no longer running the forest
1 x Rushmoor Playwright
1 x Knightsway Billy Boy...no longer running the forest

the blue and white...nope, sorry no idea..just a welsh x.

vickijay...the forest always has pockets of strangles...the forest ponies roam right up to livery yards, so its something that "foresters" have to live with i'm afraid...

I'm not convinced by the quality of any of them. I appreciate you've got a limited budget but you could do much better than those

Agreed, JM07. Perhaps people who aren't familiar with Beaulieu Road Sales don't realise that the ponies aren't "tarted up" like they are for other sales. As you know, most of them come straight off the Forest, all woolly, covered in mud, manes full of leaves and brambles etc! But at least, what you see is what you get, they aren't bute'd and ACP'd up the eyeballs . . . . .

Look at what I bought last year straight off the Forest:

and he blossomed into this 7 months later (amazing what a bit of feeding and grooming will do):
