...what do we need to think about before hand?
as it says above really! me and my boyfriend are thinking about getting a rescue doggy. we wont start looking for another few months as life is a little hectic atm and we are sorting the house and moving/ selling horses and things like that but i want to make sure weve properlly thought things out before we go to look for one.
ive only had dogs from puppies in the past but we both think we would like to rehome a dog in need of a good home rather than get a puppy. but from peoples experience how does the training differ?
weve got a dinning room which currently isnt used much which we have said can be 'the dog room' ill have a baby gate put on the doorway between there and the living room. our house isnt really very big (its a 2 bedroom terraced) and its not got much of a garden. but there are only 2 of us living there and the dog would come up to the horses with me for most of the day and we have 25 acres, my boyfriend works nights so he would take it for a walk in the mornings when he got in. there would only be probably about 2 hours on 3 days of the week when there wouldnt be somebody in the house because i dont finish work untill about 11.30 (i work in the evenings at a pub)and my boyfriend leaves for work at about 9.30.
im sure there are a million and one things to think about would you throw them my way if you think of one please
