Hey!

Been looking for something to event on eventually, though not for a few years as my horse is still going strong! Was originally looking for one already started, but not wanting/needing to spend a huge amount or need one anytime soon and have free livery so was thinking of buying a foal. I have experience with some and plenty of them on the yard so will have help etc so thinking it's a good idea? (maybe not?)

What does everything about this one? http://www.horsemart.co.uk/young_stock_horse_5_mths_16_1_hh_bay_staffordshire/advert/199350

Thanks :)

He looks very nice and is probably worth the money IMHO

But although more expensive it may be worth looking for your original 'started' horse, a foal is a lot of work and needs a lot of experienced handling

Its hard to tell from your OP if you have that so sorry if I am 'out of order'

Yeah I have never started a foal before but there are lots at our yard and people have suggested it as I wouldn't really be needing to ride for a few years and have a bit of experience with them. Either is possible just trying to get ideas! Like this one though :)

Bazaars Chief stands at £500 - so assuming the foal is correct (and he certainly appears to be) he's worth every penny - in fact he is being sold for less than the cost of production. The stud selling is a reputable one, so foal will have been trimmed, wormed regularly and handled too. If you want a foal, you could do a hell of a lot worse!
