I have a connie x who will be 3 in May. I am considering selling him as I feel his future lies doing more than hacking with me. Also I could do with a very laid back hairy cob and I feel he will be too much for me.
Bit of a pointless post really. I would only let him go to the best of homes, there are too many horses not being well looked after. I am sad about it but don't want years of struggling and being over horsed.
Am I making the right decision?

I don't think a horse really cares whether or not it is hacking or competing as long as it is well cared for :)

But if you don't feel you are going to click, I would probably think about selling.

But I don't know much about your situation so don't make a rash decision on what I've said! Lol :) good luck.

On things like this trust your gut feeling, I sold one one i bred I felt she did not want to be a competion horse she would do intros and pre novices but would not have done more she went to teach an adult to ride she was a huge sucess in her new job I got one more suited to my temperament .

I wouldn't sell because you feel hacking wouldn't be enough, but I would sell if you think you are going to be overhorsed.

It sounds as if you'd be better off with a laid back done it all before horse rather than a youngster, but some youngsters can be remarkably laid back considering, and if you have one of those then it might well be a keeper! Only you know how you feel about it though. :)
