Thinking of showing :) (also in CR)

Not been to a show to compete for years and was thinking of doing the final show of the season at my local show.
Not had him long and was going to leave it till next year so i have winter to work on him, but a few people at the yard have said take him just for some experience. I was just going to take him to walk around and get used to the atmosphere (although i know he will be as good as gold) but now im thinking of maybe doing a class with him?
Could someone give me an idea of what i should do with him.

How big is he and what breed? Also, what showing clothes/stuff do you have?

He's 16.3 i believe hes quarter horse x warmblood. I have white and canery jods long leather boots 2 different shirts and a black jacket with gold buttons and trim (providing these all still fit from about 7 years ago hehe) only thing i might need to replace is the jods (have a rather big bum now )

I'd do a riding horse class, he looks lovely.
But if your not sure, do a best turned out class

Will have a look at that website. Not planning on buying any new stuff as ill be kitting up out for next season and a bit skint right now but will give me ideas

I'd of said hunter but you really need a tweed jacket for that

If you can get a tweed jacket then definately a hunter class and riding club horse is always fun (if it's one where you get to jump)

We not done much jumping as he was out of wor for 3 years before he came to me and was really unfit. Hes still not realy fit enough to jump as iv been working so much and not rode him too much.
This is his attempt when shown a jump. bere in mind hes never jumpd before this

He looks like he's jumping well. In some riding horse classes don't have to jump but he looks good enough to do it

Yeh he has a good jump on him. That was his first time jumping and he was so honest and didnt even look at it like he had been doing it for years
Maybe i should pop a few jumps this week on him just incase.
