One of my friends has a lovely Cob, I've known him since he was 6 months. He's now about 6-7. She wants him to have a break from the hassles of living in a town, and me being up in the hills, where my horse is kept would be an ideal place for him to go.
I want to take him on, but my head is saying "NO!".. I'm having a right battle with myself atm. He'd be with me for roughly 6 months (that's already one decision made), I can't do a winter with two, previous experience has led me to play it safe and stick with the one. Trouble is, if I fall in love with the Cob, I might not want to part with him, and end up struggling with my conscience..
I have a feeling 6 months might become a lot longer if he comes.
Help! Someone please talk some sense into me! :(

I took a short term loan last year and im planning on doing it again, what i feel helps it to have a leaving date set in stone and no matter what that is when they are going home that way you dont end up keeping them for longer than you orginally intended and although its tough saying good bye you just have to be thankful for the fun you had together. Also take loads of photos :) and good luck

Thanks EimerR :) It's just so difficult, i don't think my Oh wants me to take him on (i mean really doesn't want me to), but is nice enough not to scream no at me. This loan looks like I might be selling the horse for the owner at some point, so may not even run into the 6 months yet.
