As i approach the beginning of my Alevels i have been considering studying vetrinary science at uni and then specialising as an equine vet please bear with me as i am one of those people who likes to achieve something a bit different....
from the experience of a few years of being an equine specialist i would like to develop an equine rehabilitation/convalescing/aftercare centre. The idea being that horse that have had major surgery for colic/fractures/ etc come to the centre to recuperate and be monitored. it would also be for horses who suffer from recurring physio problems eg regularly put their pelvis out etc ((idea from friend who has tb who keeps putting pelvis out but is unable to build up muscle quick enough to keep it in place) among other ailments and injuries
the centre would consist of a purpose built barn with say 8-12 XL horseboxes +isolation boxes, purpose built watermill and horsepool, all the facilities of a 'luxuy yard' eg horse showers, a school/manege, + medical facilities and staff inc. surgeon, dietician etc among other things
i'm not sure i'm explaining the overall picture very well, but basically what do you think?
