As the title says many thanks for making me think outside of the box.

As my post said yesterday I was getting in a fluff wanting to move yards and wanting to in my heart of hearts go back to my trainers yard problem is it is a 45 minute drive away.

Spent evening surfing the web and ended up on a Western Riding in Holland website and voila!

I have found a livery with a beautiful school, round pen, lunging pen, sand paddocks with 8 hour a day turnout in winter and grass paddocks for 24/7 turnout in summer. He will have a stall with his own access to a small sand paddock at night. All turnout during the day is in small groups of 4 likeminded horses and they insist that all horses are shoeless behind (beleive me this is a first for Holland!)

A fantasitc trail riding paddock with hills built into it (this is Holland remember!) water feature to ride through and raised bridges and steps which will all go to getting him confident when hacking out. Not fantastic open riding but they trailer to the beach and the forest most weekends and I am welcome to go along. They also have riding paths through their land.

They have no problem that I ride in a Dressage saddle ! although they will encourage me to try Vardi in a western saddle

They feed and turn out and bring in I have to muck out every day not a problem as it is only 8 miles from home and on the road back from work....Result!

And it only costs 20 euro a month more than where am now with much better facilities.

So thanks Gingerwitch for making me think again rather than just running back to the known element

Yeehaw!

I am sort of pinching myself at the moment I must admit.

Really lovely people as well and he is a qualified Western instructor and totally gets my desire to keep double lunging and loose schooling Vardi as well as riding him.

They have a comfy bar area with a coffee and a beer chiller! and will only take a max of 10 horses at a time for livery "as we want to treat them all as individuals"

All I need to do now is to pluck up the courage to talk to my current YO who is lovely but just does not have the facilities that I need.

Oh and in 2 weeks time they are having a working with cows weekend.....the kids are going to love it

I am liking the fact they do year round turn out - I realise its not the norm over there but it would make all the difference for me. The facilities sound fab to!

Fingers crossed it all goes well for you - I'm sure your YO will understand - if she doesn't surely it will just confirm its not the right place for you?
