Is such a thing possible? May have to do something about my cushings pony's coat this winter but I don't really want to totally clip her out, even just on the body, as she lives out 24/7. But I would like to try and reduce the coat, thinning or something, so I can rug her. Is there any way of doing this?

Plus, clipping would be a nightmare - I'd be going through blades like nobody's business and it's too cold to give her a wash beforehand.

Smart Tails who make tail rakes also make a rake to thin thick coats. I don't know what it's like as I've never used one but you could google it to try and find out more about it.

ahh something like that would be good for my girl as she needs to be sedated to be clipped and i think she will still be a pain in the ass

. i dont think her coat will be long or thick enough for it though.
if that doesnt work could you not just clip but maybe instead of clipping against the coat going with it so that it doesnt take as much off, if you know what i mean lol.
let me know what the coat rake is like though!
