Has anyone experienced this, my horse is having it done under sedation on Tuesday due to squamous cell carcinoma,

not known it in horses but one of my cats had it done and he was fine, you wouldn't have known he had anything done. It seems it is very simple and routine

One of mine had it done for same reason as above. Done standing sedated, totally successful. I was advised to use a UV mask through the summer months and I bought the mare the very best I could find, shipped from the USA. She took it off every single day regardless of how I tried to secure it. I gave up in the end and she is still going today at a grand age with no further eye issues.

Thanks so much AA - probably facing this in the next week or so with my boy so very apprehensive. Reassurance is very welcome.

My friends horse had this operation. It went well and he made a full recovery - he was sold a couple of years after, passed a five stage vetting and is still on our yard happy and healthy.

Thanks Katefc, my boy had the procedure just over a fortnight ago. He did well straight afterwards, though in recent days he seems to have had a slight recurrence of infection. The vet is coming this Pm to check this so fingers crossed!
