what are peoples opinions on wheatfeed or thirds for building up.
My new boy is 16hh meduim weight hunter build. I wouldn't say he was badly under weight at all but he needs some building up. He's taken on a lot coming to me as he wasn't used to being stabled and it was his first time moving to a new home. So as you can imagine he was very stressed out. I'm happy to say he's now settled in his box after lots of practice and some mirrors, and is enjoying his new lifestyle. Now i just need some advice on putting the weight back on he's lost due to anxiety.
He's currently fed a small breakfast and small evening feed. Fibre beet, cooked, linseed, chaf and a balanced supplement.
He's quite wide set and i think has the potential to get a bit porky with the summer coming in. however he's in regular light work as just starting his education prop.
I've had a few people day wheatfeed but then a few warn it can bring on lamanitis if fed too much. He's just rising 5 and complete sound so I need something thats going to build him back up safely
