I know the ground has been an issue in the past, was it that?

Weather wan't very good and having spoken to a couple of people yesterday, the ground just was way too bad for some horses

dont think it was the best ground and i know some team horses didnt need the runs so obviously didnt want to risk there horses and a chance in the team!

Thanks.......it was my local event, 5 miles away, until I moved to France, so it is bizarre not knowing the goss!

They'd had a lot of rain. We went a few years ago when it rained badly and the ground was very wet with raging torrents of water in every ditch.
