Wind has been gusting all of today and about 4pm the roof blew off four of our stables, totally freaking the horses, including mine who are part of the same block but their roof is still there though banging arpound smething shocking. Cops was puffing and blowing and walking around his stable YO and a couple of others had to climb on the roof and try and tie down what is remaining it is a block of 5 with 5 behind covered by the one expanse of roof. We have 5 horses spending the night in the indoor. Horses wouldn't eat their tea and YO was keeping his eye on situation as more may have to be moved later if it doesn't blow over. It is supposed to blow itself out by midnight. As it was dark couldnt see if their is any damage to my car as it is either totally scratched by the huge sheets of metal that came flying past or if I am lucky they have missed me. Car is so dirty couldnt see. Great start to 2007 but luckily no one was hurt.

Blimey...... thats bad! Hope there weren't any horses in the stables while the roof flew off!
Its pretty bad where we are too, but hopefully, the stables will still be standing by the time i get there in the morning, otherwise ill be a bit buggered to say the least!

Part of our stable roof blew off in the last lot, poor Big girl has been wary of that corner ever since, about 1/4 blew away. Hope the repair stands up to this, and that the rest withstand it. Hope yours and everyone elses are ok in the morning

Yes the horses were in the stables which is why they were so freaked the noise was teriffic as the sheets of metal landed in the main yard area my daughter was riding one of my other horses in the indoor at the time and the door banged shut (it is a sliding door) which set her off spooking but calmed her and got her back to her stable which is an original old block, this is a recently constructed block so YO is totally p...ed off with workmanship but it was really awful wind and we just have to hope that the weather calms down as promised by the forecasters tonight so that the horses can settle down, there are 30 in our yard and they are all upset obviously getting it off the ones that were directly affected
