This could be my ideal pony...

A 3yr old in a grakle, that worries me. There is no way he should need it. Other than that he looks lovely. Worth going to see.

Maybe but his mouth would not be settled yet, he would still be teething. I'm not a fan of strapping a babies mouth shut. And I don't believe they should need it.

worth a look, if he was any good i would hack him quietly for the *summer* HA! and then turn him away until next spring, i am a fan of letting them mature before putting them into proper work particulaly in heavier, later maturing breeds, and as for the grakle WHY?????? this pony is nowhere near established enough to need such a thing, i would check the mouth for wolf teeth etc that maybe causing discomfort rather than strap the poor thing's gob shut, me thinks not enough ground work done.
 
I would be highly wary of someone who breaks a horse in and promptly kits it out with a grackle. I would call and enquire - see what they say as to their reasoning. If you 'buy' what they say then it may be worth going to have a look to judge for yourself.

Oops! Thanks for all your advice everyone but it's just wishful thinking. It will be another couple of years before I can afford to buy another horse. I'm just window shopping.

No these were my thoughts exactly - I wondered if people echoed them. My worry is if he is put in a grackle for fashion is his head also pulled into an 'outline' for fashion. The thought of pulling on a horses mouth makes me so sad!
