ha ha ha did you read her other ad? just what does a horse that 'ozzes' look like??? (dark and sunglassed with a Brummie accent?)
Did you notice on the first that the bridle is actually wrapped all around her front leg, and why would you take a pic of that and not try and catch horse before injury was done???
 
It looks like the owner was too scared to take the bridle off.....or martingale whatever it is.... i would be tempted to go and see it as its not far from me.....

(I think this might start another "should dangerous horses be PTS?" debate)
 
I can't help but wonder if horsey piddled off when she was trying to put the bridle on / off and pics and advert were the result of an end of the tether owner!

Poor mare though I'm sure for that price she will get a home quickly although the adverts content does her no favours!

Just read the other ad and see that the horse should make a good hunter by the time summer arrives - the hunting season obviously starts early in their neck of the woods

That mare went through Melton sales yesterday. It didnt sell.


It really IS a bi***. It was cowkicking it's owners, and took two people to get a rug on it.

Stunning looking mare, but it attracted attention for all the wrong reasons.

with all due respect the people who had it yesterday are experienced well known horse people, and even they had problems handling it. It was one of the nastiest horses to handle I've seen.
 
I would guess it was being lead to the field in the bridle, as they say it is ill mannered so is probably rude to lead, and it p*ssed off before they could get the bridle off properly.
 
I suppose at least they're being honest. Years ago we had a horse that arrived for the riding school from a dealer that was really nasty. It tried to kick you if you got within 10ft of it and in the end it got sent back as it picked up one of the staff by the neck and threw her to the floor.

It's so sad, I assume these horses are like this for a reason, but to be honest without the right knowledge they are damm right dangerous.
 
Poor girl, the owner sounds awful (and she wrote the advert so judging on that!) and there will be an underlying reason I bet you why the mare is misbehaving...
 
In that case why are they suggesting that she would make a good broodmare - nasty breeds nasty. If she is that bad and can't be handled by experienced horse people, she could really hurt someone not experienced.
 
The people who took it through often take horses to the sales on behalf of others, so I imagine the mare didnt belong to them. But they are experienced and had real trouble with her.
 
I'm amazed at the comments on this horse from the forum.

The seller is being honest. I wish when I went to view horses they were at least half that honest. If she had drugged it and sold it to some poor unsuspecting buyer and it had badley injured them. What would you say them. She should have been honest? She has put the price by the look of it to sell. If someone out there is or think they are capable of handling it then good luck to them. This sort of horse is an accident waiting to happen. It is not necessarily the present owners fault, unless of course she bred it.

I personally would like someone to be honest, which most people are not when selling horses.

being honest yes, but reading the advert it sounds like a teenage girl in over her head.
Re: Charlie, if they have just taken it to the sales for someone it is likely they don't know it very well/haven't done much with it?
I think we will never know the true story but isnt this a prime example of washing your hands of a horse and not caring about its future?
 
it didnt make its reserve so is likely the 'sellers' were putting it through on a commission basis. The 'sellers' would probably have just picked it up that morning. They didnt look asif they knew it too well, so much so I commented to a friend that they'd regret buying it... (I thought they'd brought it) and my friend asked the people if they'd brought it and they said "no, we're the sellers".

It had a hefty kick on it, and didnt want anyone touching it's stomach. It was also kicking out at other horses. VERY nice mare to look at, obviously well bred and put together, but had a very bad attitude.
 
Judging by the spelling in the advert, I would think this a perhaps a young person. Either way, I wouldn't want to breed from that horse until I had proved that the behaviour had a physical cause! Hard to tell if it is really just a bad natured horse, or if it has something wrong with it. Strange that it is ok ridden but not on the ground; usually with pain related behaviour it is the other way round. Not one I would want to take on! I do like the honesty of the ad though.

You beat me to it TripleSandH, that's just what I was going to put. And we don't know what has happened to this mare in her life up until now either, she could have been seriously mistreated and acts like this out of fear.

Hope somehow she finds a lovely home. And that if her problems are so deep rooted mentally that someone does the kindest thing for her and doesn't pass her from home to home or breed from her.
