it's pretty normal for pros to do this with youngsters (to see their capabilities and take a few piccies of them), they usually will only jump them over it 2/3 times max. I've seen plenty of 3/4 year olds happily loose jumping over 1.40m oxers

Not saying its correct but it happens a lot

I was wondering about the phrasing 'schooling' over 1.4m. Just sounds a bit intensive.
I know of a few 6 year olds competing at that height and I feel for their joints!

Oh my god, my horsey is related to her - I got mine from Latvia and her bloodlines are from Meteor and Rubenstein...some distant relation i know but mine can jump but to be honest I haven't jumped quite that high!!!

Reminds me of when I was teaching a young boy on a stocky little cob today and he asked me in a very concerned and serious voice, 'Will my horse jump out of the school with me?'
No! But if he were on that one, then prehaps yes!
