I don't much like it! I think it is meant to be the opposite of a normal animl hanging from the wall where you just see it's head mounted, this is what would be on the other side of the wall. Maybe that is what the artist is trying to portray? You can easily imagine the horses head sticking out the other side, so this is like the bit of the wall hanging that you don't normally see.

It is bizarre though!

PaintedLucky - My mum has a stags head in her dinning room and we always tell my son that if he goes outside he will see the stags body jumping through the wall LOL so thats what I thought this horse was supposed to be doing too.
