I had told him what a fab home he was going to, and stuffed him full of apples, carrots, polos, and likit treats (he never has treats normally) as a goodbye present. Typical!

Oh well hopefully it will be ok then. Still a little surprised she wanted to buy unseen, after all what suits one person doesn't necessarily suit another. Still fingers crossed she calls you with a grovelling apology.

he is what he says on the tin, a first LR pony (or first time off the LR), and has a very very good reputation round here for that.

to be fair to Katy..you cant REALLY go wrong buying a LR sh1tland unseen......
Re: the deposit. She said that the woman only phoned LAST night to say she wanted him! Kind of hard to GET a deposit at THAT short notice! Ive only ever got a deposit once when Ive sold a horse in the past, never had a problem with them not turning up though once they've agreed to it... Weird...
Yes, didn't realise it was a lead rein pony. As good ones are like gold dust it makes more sense now. As I said, I learned to be very cynical when I was breeding GSDs.

there are plenty out there...took a £100 deposit a few years back for an Ifor 505, too...never saw them again...weird indeed..
Sorry to hear this Katy. Don't completely dispair though, things crop up from time to time and perhaps she will call and let you know why she didn't turn up.
Anyway, certainly no need to feel foolish - as JM says, loads of people have this happen to them. If this woman doesn't buy him, someone else will. Shetties are always wanted for little kids.
