What do you expect a dog show judge to wear?

See - I told you it was a serious question! :p

OMG - I have been asked to judge the dog show at the local show :o Of course the organiser tells me its a fun, novelty dog show ... but I have been going to that show for years!

Its big!! Livestock showing, horses, trade stands, fun rides - the works! All the Hoy Poloi (sp?) turn up to have picnics out the back of their Range Rovers! Everyone who is Anyone turns up at this show to be seen! And they all expect Bertie the black lab and Weasle the terrier to win :o

I'm working on the fact that the judge's decision is final! LOL!

So..... what shall I wear?

(PS: the show is mid August but its nearly always freezing cold and raining!!)

Last time I judged I wore a dark trouser suit. Time before a shirt & skirt.

Keep it simple and remember you will be bending over. If you are on Facebook "dog show fashion police" gives a good glimpse of what not to wear.

LMAO - that page is hilarious! :D

OK - I'll stick to a tweed skirt (big knickers incase its windy), frilly blouse and head scarf then ;)

I always used to wear a smart trouser suit, and comfortable shoes! Don't overload yourself with clunky, dangly jewellery that may smack a dog in the face, or flappy jackets/sleeves to do the same. Be prepared with extra layers for very hot/cold weather (I wore thermals to judge GSD shows from autumn onwards as we tough shepherd folk like to be outside whatever the weather.)

I would try to steer clear of tights that might rip or anything pristine White in case one of the dogs touches you!!

Godd luck judging! When I judge I tend to wear smart trousers (chino type), shirt and either a jacket, waistcoat or tank top. That way I'm comfortable, smart, don't need to worry about bending over and don't need to worry about wearing anything flappy that may spook a dog!
