...But I can't seem to decide if it's ok or not! Rode out last night for a little trundle, mare wasn't too happy with saddle being on (lost weight, and hasn't been tacked up for a while), and my back issues are making me pay for that choice today! So we are going back to our long hikes,as it's comfy for both of us. My question is; those elastic surcingles that are usually used to go over rugs, would that be ok to use to attach a breastplate to, for the purpose of hi vis? I can't see problem with it (I think!), but as soon as someone says no, I doubt myself. What do you wise lot think?

I would get the saddle checked for fit, if she has lost weight and wasn't happy with the saddle yesterday, before going on any longer hacks, to avoid to doing damage to her back.
I will be doing that if we ever go to hack out again, it was a test yesterday to see if I can cope with being back in the saddle due to my damaged back, which it turns out is a no. She shall most likely be a dog in the wrong body, and have walkies forevermore (brisk, adventure ones, they are dictated by the Patterdale Terrier!). Plus side is that it'll keep me moving more too, I suppose!
