but I heard on the radio earlier that we are due at least another 2 weeks of this weather and currently there are no signs indicating a change. I am now depressed - just hoping and praying that they have it wrong.

Yup - more heavy snow forecast for my area Tuesday evening and then again Thursday. I have 2 rescue ponies stuck 150 miles away that I cannot get to to bring home and it's driving me nuts. Anyone live near Yeovil and planning a trip with their trailer/horse box to S Wales??? If so, please PM me lol x

i live on the yorkshire boarders and it horrible got the vet today hope theyv got 4x4 i also had this week off

it seems pointless

We horse people are having it bad, but spare a thought for the global warming people think how desperate they must
feel, as the thinking pubic realise its yet another scare like bird flu and a money makeing people controling scam...

I know, for the next 5 days at least we dont get temps above -2 during the day!

Heavy snow forecast today getting lighter in the eve, this will be the first major lot to hit where i am, its been sooo cold thou everywhere is already an ice rink, especially the roads, this weather is like a death trap! Especially in my litte car (cant afford a big one

!) Looks like ponio will be going back on full livery, again, this week.

We've got about 6 - 8 inches of snow. Made it to the farm as I went mega early and it was all fresh snow. Beasties are staying in today. Not because it is still snowing but just in case I end up walking back up there later and I don't get there until quite late.

There was another livery there at the same time as me (who lives around the corner). We checked everybody's water and gave everyone masses of hay - good job too judging by the the texts I've been getting!!

Boooo to the weather!!!

It's bucketing down with snow here! I haven't been able to leave the house since the 31st! Luckily I keep my horses at home but Iam rapidly running out of straw and hay which is slightly worrying! Can't wait for it to melt!

I feel everyone's pain. Getting throughly fed up with this weather. Wouldn't be too bad to turn out if we could get off of the yard, but with treacherous ice to cross to get the fields and the menage we are a bit stuck.
My horse is happy enough, she likes being in, however my bank balance (due to the amount of hay/haylege and bedding that I am ploughing through) is looking distinctly fragile - and it's not pay day for another 25 days - booooo

We dont have any snow as of yet so i feel for all you guys. Due snow later i just hope it holds off till i get back from the vets, just want to get his xrays done then i wont care so much. But it is bloody freezing, water is frozen over we are having to lug water up from the farmhouse which is half a mile away

Hmm, which is why they renamed it quite a few years ago to 'climate change' seeing as some place will get warmer and some will get colder. It is inevitable.

I don't mind the snow, its just weather really. I think in a few months you'll all be moaning on about not having enough rain/sun etc etc. We british just love to moan.

Right.... presumably you also believe they're all out to get you as well?

Global warming (which is better referred to as climate change) causes more extreme and unpredictable weather patterns. It doesn't just mean it will be hot like the Sahara all year long in Manchester from now on. There is also a possibility that climate change could shut down the thermohaline circulation in the Atlantic. This includes the Gulf Stream and means that it would be permenantly cold here in the UK if that happens, as the GS is what keeps us warm here.

Re. the OP, I agree. Am thoroughly fed up with this weather. I've now resigned myself to this and am giving the horse Jan off work. Roll on spring!!

I've PM'd you! x

There's about 8 inches of fresh snow this morning and it's still coming down heavily. I've braved it so far and not let it stop me going anywhere, but i'm getting worried now that i will actually be stuck in. The OH works in a transport office and is having a nightmare of a day as half the motorways and A roads are shut

Fed. Up.

But it would be abnormal if there were'nt climate change! Weather is not meant to stay identical all the time. The earth enters and leaves ice ages periodically, it is normal. You get really cold winters every 20 years or so. There is evidence that statistics are manipulated and misrepresented in terms of global warming.

Anyway, I haven't ridden for 3 weeks. It has snowed here every day except 4 days since 21 December. As soon as there is a break in the weather, I am going to move my horse to my new yard which has an indoor school. At the moment its too risky trying to take a trailer up the drive to my current yard, or taking horse down to load on the road!

He's a new horse too, and I've only ridden him 5 times!
