This is possibly the most disgusting thing I have seen

Lets all send get well wishes to the young lad who sustained a kick in the head trying to save the pony. He is apparently still ill in hospital.

I so hope that what goes around comes around.
 
Horrific and sickening are the first words that come to mind. I could not put the rest on here, TFC would have a field day.
Although I hope people do not tar all travellers / Romanies with the same brush. I have seen a huge amount of compassion from some of them towards their animals. I appreciate that this is not accross the board, but their are some good ones. We only ever hear about the baduns.
 
Jesus, that's just horrific. No doubt nothing will be done about it though. Hats off to the young man who tried to save the pony and for standing up to these scum bags, hoping he makes a speedy recovery.
 
Appalling, I'm usually curious even about the worst of things but I couldn't even read that.

Brave person attempting rescue. Really honourable.

But I find the racism on this thread equally disgusting. Did you all condemn all white people after Jamie Gray's cruelty was brought to light? Don't be so naive FGS.
 
poor poor pony and the person who tried to save it.

I don't care who or what the person / people are who did this they are complete b*stards and I hope they suffer the same fate but worse. They are human and I feel baffled and disgusted how they can behave like this and be the same as us.

I heard this story this morning and have felt sad all day. RIP little pony :(
 
Absolutely horrific. I assume passers by phoned the police immediately? They'd better be doing their best to now go and take the other 2 ponies (and all others) away from these horrid horrid people.
 
The pony was drowned by a bunch of drunk, idiotic "ethinic minorities" who quite frankly should not be allowed a dog, let alone a pony. The children that saw that pony drown have been utterly traumatised.
Said ponies had been tied up outside a pub all afternoon then flogged up the road to the lake.
Two ponies were forced into the water, and one sadly was unable to get himself out....but given the lake goes from knee deep to nearly 10ft its hardly suprising.
And FWIW to those defending, when that lad was pulled out the water and appeared to be dead, those responsible buggered off and left him to the bystanders.
Classy eh?
 
I'm not defending this case of course (I would hope that was obvious, frankly, but there you go) but that does not make it ok to make a sweeping statement about every single person who may have nothing to do with this but happens to be of the same ethnicity. If this act had been perpetrated by a Pakistani, it would not be ok to make the same comment I object to about all Pakistanis or all Asians.

I so agree. Why are some people so narrow minded!? I got the mare from gypsies, she was not very well looked after but I am still not going to start making generalisations about all gypsies!

See for me there is a distinct difference.
Gypsies (particularly those of romany origin) are quiet, well mannered and above all good horsemen. What they lack in a formal education is made up in practical hard work, and they take a huge amount of pride in the horses they rear.

The others (the banned P word kind) are generally thieving toerags, who care not a jot for the animals in their care, and see them only as future income when sold. They keep a lower quality of animal, indiscriminately breed them, and when the fancy takes them, flog them at speed up the roads when the poor beggars are no older than 18 months.

I'm with you on this. I know a gypsy. a proper Romany,he's 86, and has lived around here for years, who will go that extra mile for one of his horses if its in need. He cannot read or write, but he's forgotten more about horses than I will ever know. He's a proper horseman, but has compassion too. And he's had unspeakable things done to his horses by others, just because they bear a grudge against him and his family. But he doesn't go looking for revenge. He's a decent man, and I love listening to his tales of days gone by and all the horses he's had. My cob is a gypsy cob, and he came from this chap's cousin, and he also cares for his horses. So please, whilst what happened to that poor little pony is absolutely vile and evil and I hope they rot in hell, don't tar them all with the same brush.
I also wish the lad who tried to save it ,makes a good recovery. He was very brave and selfless to try.
 
I accept my infraction - I may have said something in a rage in response to reading the story that I don't regret actually, but sorry that I said it on this thread.

I still stand by the fact that I don't believe the people who did this should be called human whether they were gypsies or not. I was wrong to tar all gypsies with the same brush. I'm sure there are some very nice ones out there somewhere.

I apologise to all those I offended.
