This makes me a bit cross

Flaming idiots! That ad reads to me that they are just assuming the dog won't be safe around the baby cos he is a rottie . Hope he finds a decent home but unfortunately suspect he may end up with more idiots.

At least they are being truthful and stating that he isn't safe in the ad. And acting before he does do something to the baby.

Yes he may need his golden bits cut but they seeking someone that doesn't have kids and someone who is more aware of the dogs needs then them.

If they just wanted rid to anyone they wouldn't state that he is unsafe.

The only thing is that yes it may attract thugs to take him on, but we've just to hope that are responsible and give him to a experienced dog handler (not just a owner)

Suspect the ad may have been edited since I last viewed it, as that's definately not what it said when I read it.

...Seems to have been deleted alltogether now.

I do not think it read as "this is an unsafe dog" a t all- it read that they could no longer be bothered with the dog, as they had now moved on to having kids- this happens alot with people assuming certain breeds are kiddie eaters.... when they are not

I clicked on the link and it appears to have been taken down . . . which in all fairness is probably better for the poor dog. Hopefully his crown jewels will be whipped away from him before he gets the chance to use them.

probably a vain hope though. it seems to me that a lot of owners dont want to pay for their animals to be neutered unless they can see a real reason to do so. a lot dont.

i met a really sweet intelligent young lad of 17 when he came to my neighbors house the other week. he runs a pet sitting service for owners on holiday and plans to go to veterinary college. he seemed a very responsible bright lad and had his lovely cocker with him. I asked him if his dog was neutered (mainly because i had my in season bitch in my garden who i havent had long and is booked to be spayed in november before im jumped on!)

'oh no' he said. 'i couldnt do that, it would feel wrong' he said.. sort of crossing his legs together in a masculine gesture of sympathy

i was very surprised. if he wanted to be a vet id have thought he understand why neutering was a good idea.

think a lot of male dog owners share this attitude, they have a primal aversion as if its them having their balls off (although that might be a good idea with some of them)

Hope this poor dog finds a good home. Bloody hate pets on gumtree.
