Near where I live there's a pony in a field, probably bought so the little girl didn't feel jealous of her brother being into trials bikes. Anyway, I've only ever seen the pony being ridden once. There's hardly any grass on the field, yet the other day when I was by, low and behold 3 other horses have arrived in the field, which is just about the right size I'd say for one. Even worse, the owners had shut their own horse up in a pen, so didn't have any grazing; their other fields are being eaten by sheep so surely they could have put their own or the other horses in with the sheep. The people who's the 3 horses are I'm sure the field owners fell out with sometime ago.

I just think of the neglected pony, who's probably now sidelined for the money they're making on renting out the field for the other horses.

Not meaning to be rude-but firstly, how do you know why this pony was baught? Do you know its history-maybe it was rescued or something? Also secondly, how do you know its only been ridden once unless you watch it 24/7???? Sorry-just wish people didnt make such assumptions

As for no grass-maybe its a laminitic or something? Or that is all they can afford to rent etc and maybe its given hard feed or simply doesnt need much grass??????

I can only echo RTG, you seem to know an awful lot for someone who is spying on the pony. I for one am glad it has field mates, as for it being in a pen, well that could be for a multitude of reasons and lastly, if you are that worried call WHW - they will make an informed judgement on the horses welfare...rather than your biased one.

Agree with above. My Shetland is now 18, she is't ridden much and she sometimes has to be isolated in her own field for obvious reasons (as is the same for most ponies), would you also bitch about me if you saw my 'poor' pony?

It's none of your business unles sthe pony is being neglected or mistreated in which case I gree with above - call WHW.
