this Saturday's hunting report...

Here goes......well decided to take my old hunting pony out for the first time in 3 seasons - didnt know how shed behave as she usually bucks me off at least 3 times (shes only 13.2)!! But hacked down to a lovely meet where we had amazing punch :) and lush food .... not loads out but the wind was unbelieveable. Left the meet had a nice little trot along the lane to get everyone warmed up and then hit our first field - had a nice canter to the top (with 2 bucking episodes) and then split into jumpers/non jumpers for the first fence - i opted out of the first as i knew it was a beefy tiger trap coming down a nasty bank with a huge drop the other side - so about 5 of us went on to the to of the ridge to watch the others and keep an eye out for where they were heading next - we were nearly blown off our horses it was that windy up on the top but the view of the others below and the hounds working was amazing!! We then joined back up with the jumpers (who jumped the tiger trap back into the wood) and had a nice blast around the edgeof the wood with the hounds in full cry. Then moed on to the next covert and i decided to brave a jump - and she was amazing - jumped like i remember she used to and cleared a few hairy tiger traps into and out of deep planted fields! Had a bit of a breather and moved onwards again to towards home and had more blasts and more great fun!! Hounds worked well and covered lots of ground......my little girl then decided enough was enough and proceeded to have a bucking fit.....we then decided to head home as were only a mile away from home

all in all a really good da - loads of moving and some nice jumping.....just a tad windy!!!
