Wind here this morning like i've never known.Went out to see to the boy this morning at 7am only to find they'd gone through the electric fence , still i can't blame them as it is sheltered in that bit , they do have a shelter but it's pretty scarey when the wind is up so i guess they used their own initiative , no harm done anyway. My big bale of hay has disintergrated but i'll confess it's the dustiest bale i've ever known so it'll be scrapped and i've ordered a big bale of haylage for them.... take care folks x

I didn't think it was TOO terribly bad over here.... but I was informed earlier this morning that someone brick wall for their garden fell down in the village next to us

Horses have been turned out, put some hay into the shelter so they can munch on that and then they can decide for themselves if they want to venture out into the wind and rain

it went quiet here for about an hour, now the winds have picked up with a vengeance again

half my garden is down but I'm not gonna bother sorting any of that out now, absolutely no point, I'll probably get blown away in the process lol

at least it's stopped raining... for now

Awful here, too (northern Germany). The weather forecast says there's no change until Friday. :( It's going to be a long week!

Just sent OH to the yard as it's our turn to poo pick the paddock today. Daresay it'll take him forever - he's got to walk the dog, and stop at the supermarket on the way home as well.

OH is the brave one, and I'm the scardy cat in this house! ;)

Glad I rode early as it got worse and worse and started flooding.

Both my horses had got out over the blown down fence into next doors paddock. No harm done, and actually my mare was VERY well behaved being dragged back! I couldn't be cross. The filly just had to follow!
The Old Horse's leg is no change, slightly more sore.:( He had hay, water and a FULL bucket of feed. Don't think he knows where to start!
The yard drain was blocked causing a flood, so I had to clear that first. The Chickens were not sure if they were chickens or ducks!

Got totally drenched in the process of walking the dog and doing the horses. Trying to warm up now.
My coat is so NOT waterproof!

very wildly windy all night and picked up with a vengance this am around 6 or 7...was very late to do mine this am as i was too scared to go out, made a break for it eventually in a mini lull & still struggled to get the truck door open, so had to get in the passenger side & climb in over the dog!the rain was pelting hard but the road literally had a current in it, flowing down the hill and round the 90degree bend in sheets & waves..I rang to cancel mum as she was coming on the train from sussex to visit, so we decided to play by ear & see how it is at lunch..suddenly we had a lull & all went calm & sunny(that funny yellow ball in the sky I vaguely remember-must be from tv!)so i text to say would check on internet at 1 as was quiet, 5 mins later she says v nice day now at her end so was on the train...literally that moment the wind came from nowhere again & has not let up since...I DOOOOOO wish parents would listen occasionally!she has three changes & a good 4 hour journey I'm just not relishing the drive to the station & back either as most of the lanes are flooded...if nothing else I'm thinking positively the wind MIGHT just dry the fields out a little...pffff yep from a lake to a pond!
Please all be careful out there...almost considering driving with my riding hat on, don't care if I look silly...its the getting in & out thats the dangerous bit..i swear that flipping door has it in for me!;-/

Not too bad in Berlin - we're so far inland. But it is windy.

I was stopped in a queue at the traffic lights this morning and a tree blew down onto the bonnet of the car in front. Luckily it wasn't very big. It smashed the bonnet up a bit but missed the windscreen. I think a foot taller and it would have gone straight through onto the driver. He was very shaken up, but physically ok thankfully. Don't think I've ever seen wind like it.

It was terrible this morning, lots of bits of trees in the road and awful flooding. My car broke down, I was crawling through a huge flood, I was doing very well, then some numpty in a 4X4 (no offence, wish I had one instead of a Fiesta!) came hammering through and drowned me, car died! 2 nice men pushed me out and got me on my way again, then finaly got to the field and the lane was underwater and was pouring in my field :( Lukey had farrier today and I had to walk him to a friends yard 2 miles down the road as the farrier couldnt get in the field. Lukey had a great time playing in all the floods, I was soaked right through by the time I got to mates yard!! I couldnt ride him as he lost a shoe and was a little sore, so 17.1hh who was a big kid in the water was no contest for little me!!! I was drowned!!!! ;)

I am so glad I'm off work today! All horses will have been turned out for a couple of hours.... better them out and cold than the shoddy stable roof coming in on their heads
I have been too much of a wimp to leave the house! Well I had to go out to retrieve my full wheelie bin from the roof of next doors new car :eek:

Pics from Scotland look horrific, stay safe everyone :)

It's been horrible hasn't it, I hate when the weather's like this. I was up all night worrying about the horses because I could hear things being blown all over the yard and when I glanced out the window I saw a wheelie bin being blown into the stables! Luckily they don't seem too bothered by it - they're not enjoying it, are in the top paddock waiting to come in and have been since about lunchtime but they're not charging about in a panic. One has gone nuts but knew she would, not much I can do other than try to keep her occupied with haynets!
Was horrible driving this morning, thought my car would blow over, it was going all over the place.
Keep safe everyone x
