I friend has just posted this video on facebook and i have really enjoyed watching it. I have had the feeling of 'im just going to sell you!' My mare very nearly kicked me in the head a number of times on the lunge and ran at me and scared me. i remember posting on here saying how much she had scared me when she cornered me in her paddock one night and double barreled me. Well when the snow came i did lots of work on the floor as i could do nothing else. well she now lunges like an angel, i got firmer with her and sorted the boundries. it still early days with her, she still has attitude under saddle, but this has inspired me to continue. enjoy

What am amazing transformation!! Well done for persevering. You look like a very talented and patient rider. I really enjoyed the video.
 
I loved watching that video. Certainly brought a tear to my eye.

It just goes to show that if it's not working out, instead of trying to do the same thing over and over you should stop. And try something completely different. Horses can get locked into a behaviour - it's part of their natural instinct. Ask them to do something else and it can unlock them.
 
I was watching this yesterday.... it was on the same page as the wonderful thing about tiggers!!

Totally amazing, shows you what commitment can do doesnt it..... and to not always listen to other peoples comments :)

Exactly right, the time taken on the ground here, is what turned it around IMHO. The time spent just around the horse is always time well spent. Even them outside stable munching hay while you are mucking out, you are there he is happy eating, no pressure, just like his field buddies
 
Yes, indeed, a 'real' horse woman with insight and talent. Well done for persevering and for going it alone. If only more people had the guts to keep going and build a relationship, there would be far fewer horses being passed between pillar and post.
 
I love this video, have watched it a fair few times! Have a lot of respect for her, her new horse reeno is adorable! looks like he was a lot easier to break.
 
Also another one whom has seen several of her vids on youtube. She is a fab rider and always seems to calm and relaxed with all of her horses.
 
You do wonder just how many times she hit the deck and got up calmly and quietly. Wonderful story - I loved it! What an angry unhappy person the horse was initially. You wonder too how many people took back what they had said!

WOW after watching this wonderfull video, I think there is hope for me and my boy now,, he is a big stron 16.1h ex race horse.

perfect in the stable can do anything with him for ages, totally different thing when he is outside omg tying up is a nightmare freaks and breaks the lead rope, hates the hose pipe, gets really stressy if you pull on his leadrope when his head coller is on, moves when you try to get on him to ride, pulls his head up to tack up the list goes on lol,...

But after watching this video time and patience is the key

Bless her, just shows you don't have to give up. I do think it is so important to get to know your horse on the ground. Build up trust without asking anything of them. Trust between any living beings is a huge thing and when you have it, it makes all the difference :)

try some simple groundwork inhand, going back when you ask, stopping when you stop etc and see what happens. its the trust that builds up that makes the most difference
