On group walkies.
They were both good, ish. Tyson had no bouncey dogs to keep him occupied, so he took it upon himself to disappear off & find his own fun, but he did lots of stopping and waiting for the group to catch up, so that was good :)
Bryony did her crazy hoon around and bother other dogs in a forceful manner thing initially, but she soon stopped and walked calmly with the group, it's lovely to be able to relax and not be in constant fear that she's going to do a Tys and bugger off, she stays so close to me mostly.
Anyway, some pics to prove I am doing ok with both of them :)

we go on a group walk and get different people every week come and the regulars.

it`s great fun and the dogs all seem to stay together.

this week we had a small group with my rottie,a staffie x ,kcs ,corgie, pug and a bouvier puppy. (odd assortment :) )
its a nice park with a big circular route, the local husky group were there today, there were loads of them.

Loving that Bry's has another AMbull as a mate!! If you ever need an OTT dog for Ty's you know where I am!

Hehe, From what I've heard about Dexy on here I think him and Tys would get on famously :p

Can I ask, when do you folk think that the mad 10 minutes Bryony does when first let off the lead, of hooning and hounding other dogs will stop?
She was such a good girl this weekend, sticking really close to me and never wondering too far away that I want to try taking her for a walk on my own, without a pack of dogs, and let her off to throw her ball... Im worried that as there are no other dogs to chase she will just run off on a mad one :o or if she spots another dog in the distance it will be game over :(
Until I can do this, it means she can only go off her lead once a week when we have the group walk.

I might be misunderstanding what you mean by "hooning and hounding", because I dont really know Bryony's story... but my two dogs always start each walk with what I call their 'funny 5 minutes' in which they run around like lunatics, chasing each other, growling, and generally sounding like rabid beasts! Since they're both mine I just let them get on with it, but if I wanted to put a stop to it I would distract them with some sort of other chase game like fetch, or I might even resort to running round like a loon myself!

For my dogs I think it is a way for them to let off steam, and also a weirdly joyful experience for them. I can see why you might want to kerb Bryonys enthusiasm because of the problems you can have with her, but I think in your shoes I would try to channel her hooning energies into some sort of other high energy hooning, such as ball chasing or similar.

Sorry, I doubt this is that useful really - hopefully someone more helpful will answer! :)

ETS - Forgot to say congrats for the successful group walk!

Another ETS - Just re-read your post and see that you will already be ball-throwing - oops! I guess you just have to try to make yourself more interesting than any other dogs, and if you have to resort to running around waving your arms and wailing like a banshee so be it! (That's definitely it now, I'll skulk off and leave this to those more qualified to answer!)

If we have off-lead sessions in class, we normally do 2-3 dogs at a time, and they generally begin with a ceremonial approach and bum-sniff, followed by a hoon, after which they either settle down to investigating the arena or they continue hooning until they are recalled. When I walk with other people there's normally an initial crazy hoon, then they get down to the serious business of looking for squirrels and phessies:rolleyes::D
