Just wondering if anyone else saw the vet special spread in H&H this week about hock problems, eg. Bone spavin, especially in showjumpers? I can really relate to the case study, I think on a horse called 'Lee'. My mare was showing the exact same symptoms as this horse: loss of performance behind, irregular but not really 'lame' trot, disunited canter etc.
In the article it says that so far 'Lee' has been improving after having corticosteroid injections and checking with the physio that his back was OK.

My mare is only 7 but has been developing these signs since about a year ago, had 2 vets check her at Uni and say she was just 'maturing' into her own way of going, but the scans and Xrays by a vet at home show very slight boney changes and she is getting treated for bone spavin. She's had this corticosteroid injections into her hocks and now is undergoing a course of 1x weekly for 4weeks injections of catrophen and then once a month onwards, alongside physio treatment for a stiff and sore back believed to be a secondary injury through her hock issues.

Has anybody else got experience with catrophen? H&H said there are no large studies, after google scholaring this on my Uni account I can see this is true but the small-case studies look positive so far. Or has anybody else had any experience with this type of injury, I believe it's very common?

Just interested in others opinions and experiences, as mine with hock injuries is quite limited.
Thanks
