If you read on the website it says.
Proven international mares or proven broodmares so yes there is every liklihood that Anastasia has a mare good enough to be covered by Arko.
If you look on her website she has a ster mare among others.

I wasn't having a go alright
My comment was tongue-in-cheek....nothing more
As i don't know Anastasia, i can't comment on the quality of her breeding stock...but if as you say she has, then good on her
ETS: I have just been and had a look at her webbie, and yes, she has some very nice horses there. So you are probably right and it will teach me to be more careful in how i word my responses in future
I wasnt having a go at you .
And as you say your remark was tongue in cheek .
It just didnt sort of come across like it but hey that the trouble with message boards abit its difficult to tell.
Can anyone enlighten me as to why the fee is so high? I know naff all about leisure horse stallions, but that seems high compared to the others ive seen.
I understand he is a very good horse, but isnt ProSet too?
Not always but Arko is deemed to be one of the best in the world so i suppose if you looked at the same calibre of dressage stallion it would be approriatley(sp) priced.
Also the proven brood mare applies to the fact that he is only usually avaliable by frozen semen and limited so they only want to use it on the most fertile mares.
I would love an Arco baby, wonder if my mare would be OK - she has amazing SJ bloodlines and her siblings are doing well BUT she herself has done naff all!
LOL.............gosh well this has been an interesting thread since I posted it this morning......phew.............
What lovely comments people made on my horses.......thanks, that was lovely...........
And dont worry I did not take anything in the wrong content, so no feelings hurt......LOL
I never realised just how expensive Arko was. I have to say that I would rather go for Argentinus (his sire), he is cheaper and has proven babies at top level sport. Arko is still young and has no proven youngstock that are old enough to hit the highlights in sport yet.
Gosh I would be a nervous wreck waiting for a foal to be born after paying that sort of money......
LOL............no I was not sidling for any money.......but if anyone is offering......
BTW............the donkeys.............cute or what!

LOL!
I've never really thought of international SJ'ers as leisure horses
I guess that as Arko himself has won over £700k already, we're talking big business...perhaps not in the league of flat racing, but still serious money nonetheless
I think it is actually quite positive that they are only offering him to approved mares, as it takes away some of the purely financial aspect of things, and suggests to me that the Hales are really trying to improve British Sporthorse Breeding
I believe a foal son of Argentinus recently sold for something like £75k at a dutch auction so people really do think he is the biz

Well as my mum always used to say if you like the horse use it's dad. So I would go for Argentus too.
I don't blame them saying only approved mares as then what he produces should be better quality and the stud fee could be even higher in a few years once he has some little superstar Arkos out and about.
