So who has read the article on vanishing horse world? I of course went straight to it to see what they had to say about the CB - endangered breeds? No they have given the breed a sentence under Carriage horses

How the hell is the breed going to get the recognition it deserves for being a good all round riding horse if it is dumped under carriage horses??

Yes my letter has gone off to the editor who has probably filed it under lunatics to be avoided!!

Rant over as I still have piles of work to finish!!

I haven't seen it ....have they mentioned Dales ponies at all? That is rubbish about Cleveland Bays - the ones on the Critical list should be given the MOST coverage, not the least!

If they read this post I think their mail won't be opened at HHO for the next fortnight at least

I've never thought of CB's as carriage horses, even though they traditionally are, but I love them!

Good on you for putting them right! x

same could apply to a lot of horses - pure bred Irish Draft. Suffolk Punch - that one is more endangered than the CB and didn't get a mention as far as I could see

one endangered species that also didn't get a mention is the non-college educated 'horseperson' - the ones that know what they are doing and don't need to phone the feed merchants hotline to know how to feed a variety of types of horse

those definitely are an endangered species !!

totally agree and I thought exactly the same when reading the article.

I may not have one myself but I also have a soft spot for CBs especially as I have my own Donkey who i wouldn't be surprised had a bit of CB thrown in on his mother's side who was a bit of a mix!!!

I had never had anything to do with CB's, but then bought a TB x CB, who's more CB than anything, and she's so fantastic.

If I ever have to buy another horse, it would only be a CB
