or more to the point the buds/flowery tips to the thistles.

anyway my horse and ponies love eating them and can't seem to get enough of them at the moment so was wondering if they were ok for them and also what 'benefit' would they give the horses?? such as salt/vitamins/etc which they get from other things or they look for other plants because they are lacking in something.

hope that makes sense? lol

thanks, i wondered about them because i tried to pull a few off but they were really prickly, i couldn't understand why a horse would like them as much as mine do! lol

The pony loves them. So much so that she cleared an entire patch of them last year. Not sure if there are any benefits, but no adverse effects that I've noticed.

They're very high in sugar so if you have a lammi/EMS pony best to keep them away

thanks, that's useful to know, mine aren't lammi prone but they are all barefoot so i do take care not to feed too much sugary stuff.

My tb gelding loves them. He also nicked off with my welly today and started chucking it about and tried drag the rug off the gate and run off with it, the pest!!
