Hi bought a thomas and co hat from a show presuming it was fake fur. They dont appear to have a website or any contact details online. Does anyone know of it is real or fake fur on the pom pom?

They have both. I can remember seeing the stand at HOYS and one side of it had real fur 'bobbles' and the other side had faux fur 'bobbles'. The stand was clearly labelled, but as you have the hat you should be able to tell by feeling an individual fur strand/hair. If it tapers naturally to a point it will be real, where as faux has a more 'cut off' end. Compare the feel to a hair from your own cat/horse/dog to learn how it feels. Also if you have something else that is faux, feel that to learn the difference.

I don’t think there is such a thing as ethical fur farming, but as these are the cheaper end they probably come from China, andthey are happy to use dog cat or anything else, not worth putting an animal through that for a Pom Pom?

Isn't there a label anywhere?

You could try looking at the backing to see if it's fabric or skin, or if that can't be seen, try smelling it?

I like their fedoras, so I had a good look at the stall. I *think* the labelling inside the bobble hat said something like '100 % acrylic, made in China' and that referred to the hat part only, not the bobbles. They have a popper on the top of the hat and you could pop on either the faux or real bobble in the colour of your choice. I don't remember seeing a label on any of the bobbles.
