You are wasting your money on a veterinary diet specifically designed for pets with food allergies if you are adding various meats to it and feeding treats.

I know how difficult it is to feed a dog with food allergies, I've had two.

You are right, we have just fallen into the habit of giving the Purina to her and its not cheap either. We did cut out most food and just gave her chicken/turkey and then started introducing other things and she never looked back.

We're not sure she has allergies anymore to be honest. Since being off cheese entirely for over 6 months or more the ear infections seem to be a thing of the past. I think the vet wanted to hedge her bets so suggested the hypo allergenic food.

We also stopped letting her hang her head out of the window which I personally thought contributed towards the ear issue although partner said it had nothing to do with things.

Did the vet suggesting poulticing. I find it really helps with grass seeds, thorns etc.
With regard to your problems with her eating , don't tell her I said this :) but from the photo she wouldn't do any harm to miss a meal. I would stop adding tasty bits to encourage her (as has already been said cooked meats are full of salt and sugar), just adopt a take it or leave it attitude with her kibble. Its very rare a healthy dog will starve itself, as suggest Butchers Tripe is good if you want to give her a tiny bit of a taster.

Thank you we have already (much to partners disgust tried her with that) but she won't eat it lol. Yes she is overweight, I agree. Diet time!

Another suggestion from someone who had a dog with severe allergies but who would eat anything! Sadly my girl died 2 years ago but I feel your pain.

My boy terrier does not have skin problems but does have a super sensitive stomach and is sick on lots of foods. He can be a picky eater too. He will always eat naturediet fish food (smelly but tasty) the salmon or the white fish, and Ava sensitive skin and stomach food which is also fish (both wet food). Neither make him sick.
He can get diarrhoea too if he eats anything that doesn't agree with him. The naturediet can be ordered form Amazon and is quite cost effective for a small dog. Not sure how it works out for a larger one. I get it on repeat monthly order and save 15% on the original cost plus it is delivered which is convenient. It seems quite good for his weight too keeping him covered but not overweight.

Allergies aside I really hope her paw clears up soon, it is so sad to see them uncomfortable and she sounds adoreable.

How is your dog's paw?

Did she need to go back to the vet, is it now well healed?
Oh she's fine thanks, bouncing around, she had the course of anti bs and it cleared up.

Yesterday we visited old friends and she was running around with their dog like nothing had ever happened.

I sometimes wonder what the outcome has been when people have asked for advice on the forum. It's good to have an update.
