hey so about 10 months ago i moved my boy to a new yard this yard has better grass and better quality hay. he is a little over weight now but i have come to the conclusion he will never be as trim as he was before the move because of the environment. his saddle no longer fits him and i am having a really problem looking for a new one. i am really a happy hacker so i am thinking of gettind a thorogood t4 or t6, gp or gp cob. would this be a good idea? he is tb x welsh d. im just soo tired not being able to ride as he has been of 3 months now and i need to get him back into work.

I have the Kent and Masters cob GP saddle which is a leather version of the Thorowgood cob saddle. I guess you could try and find a local saddler who sells them, I bought my saddle second hand and then got my saddler to come and check the fit. The cob saddle is quite low at the withers so it would depend on the shape of your horse which saddle you get. They are great saddles as you can change the gullets when your horse changes shape.

there are a few thorougood ones where you can change the gullets which are very good. i have 2 one for my cob cross and another for my tb x and when there weight changes you just change the gullet. wintec are also very good and can be cheaper than alot of others and look very nice too x
