Hi,

I wonder if there is anyone here that is up with thoroughbred breeding who could give me advice on bloodlines of my horses in the racing world. Are they well bred etc?

My stallion is by Galileo out of Street Cry bred in the US. The mare is by Kheleyf out of a mare called Torver. As you say breeding isn't everything but I know as in all breeds some lines are favoured over others. Just interested in how these would be considered on paper.

Any TB can be well bred but it doesn't make them a winner on the track. What are the bloodlines of your horse?

If you are trying to breed a racehorse then it probably wouldn't get a bid at the sales. The mare was useless and not from great lines. Whilst the sire is by Galileo I can't see any Galileo x Street Cry that have been any good either. So crossing the 2 will probably get you a nice all round horse it won't get you a racehorse.

Sorry, probably not what you want to hear.

Do you want to use your stallion as a sire? That is a lottery.

I think you should find a proper sire.

The 2nd mare (mom of Torver) has a great colt by Indian Ridge called Tumbleweed Ridge, lifetime eranings £ 250.000
So I'd like to say that ''find a sire from Indian Ridge line'' but no many sires from Indian Ridge line in the UK.
I find 2 sires from this line, Indian Haven and Dabbers Ridge. Especially Indian Haven is more reliable sire who stands at Withyslade Farm.
