Has anyone rehomed a horse through the British Thoroughbred rehoming Centre on their loan scheme? If so, what was your experience? Thanks

I tried to, because I had heard good things about them. But my experience was that I pushed towards one horse in particular, the questions I asked were never answered and I was ridiculed for voicing a couple of concerns I had. Big red flags for me so I didn't bother in the end.

Again, just my experience. I was disappointed because of the good reviews and it's a good idea in principle.

^sorry, I misread your post. I was looking to buy, not loan. But I wouldn't chance a loan with them either, based on the contact I had with them. Sorry I haven't really answered your question.

The BTRC are local to me, they only do loans as far as I know. I've never had one personally from them but I've been to their open days and a few friends have horses from them. Happy to pm more info.

I took over a loan of a btrc horse direct from another loaner with btrc's blessing, so missed the initial process. I had good dealings with them, and they were easy to deal with when I needed to return him. They do regularly check on the horse out on loan, and are there for advice should you need it.
From their open days they do an awful lot before a horse even gets offered for loan, their vet comes over once a month to check over new arrivals and monitor rehab cases.
I believe they select suitable horses that they have for you, based on your requests, plus ability, rather than you choose which one you would like. Obviously I missed out this part, so not able to comment personally.
Their horses are for loan, not sale. They will visit to check the suitability of the livery/field/home that the horse will be kept.

Ignore me completely, I was talking about the British and Irish Thoroughbred Agency. My mistake. I think I was so cross about what happened I needed to get it off my chest ?
