As we all know the market for horses is shocking at the minute with not a lot selling, however after advertising two of my horses recently i was shocked by the responses, My 5 year old bombproof first pony who i had priced very cheaply due to the current climate never recieved a single call and it was only after i spotted a wanted ad i managed to sell him, however after advertising my 6 week old coloured colt 2 days ago (who has no registered breeding whatsoever)at a unrealistically high price i have been over-run with calls totalling 13 emails and 4 phone calls and as a consequence is now sold to the first person who came to see him (after i'd done a thorough home check lol) at our asking price! Very confused that in times of hardship there seems to be a market for foals who people have to keep for 3/4 years before they can ride, granted they can be shown etc but still! Anyone else have similar experiences? Tis a funny world!! :)

Yup, my experience from last month - lovely 9 year old well schooled 15.1hh bombproof gelding, quirky but kind - absolutely impossible to sell, one phonecall when I dropped his price to 2k, they came out tried him, he jumped 3ft oxer for them, went round like an angel and hacked out calmly on the end of the buckle. Then went home and never bothered to give me an answer. Ended up having to sell him back to his breeder for less than that but it is a home for life.
Since I have been casting my eyes over the ads and there is nothing like him for 2-3k, all I can find is ex-racers.

I advertised my daughters 14hh pc pony a week past on Thursday, had 8 calls by tea time. Sold her to the first people to see her, she was well priced at 4.5k. I am very happy as was expecting a hard slog. Sad today though as she goes to her new home.
