I have just taken delivery of a saddle I bought on Pre Loved. It was advertised as a Thorowgood GPD and I thought that these had changeable gullets ?

It has arrived and is actually a Griffin GPD Wide fit my horse is narrow - med. I know they are made by the same people but don't think this has a changeable gullet ??

Any help please ?

I thought the older ones weren't changeable. Did the advert state that it was changeable and if not did you ask the seller whether it was changeable and if so what bar it had in?

I am currently selling my Griffin that has been sat in the loft for the last 5 years. It doesn't have a changeable gullet.

Was told by my saddle fitter that any older Thorowgoods probably wont.

She said the best way to tell is if you can see the screws on the underside of the saddle would be used to change it.

My Griffin doesn't have a changeable gullet. Mine is an older one so don't know if it is an option on some of the newer ones. Was it advertised as having one?

No Griffin has changeable gullets. They renamed the newer models, with changeable gullets, T4 and T6. If it's called Griffin it is guaranteed not to be changeable. It may have Fish inserts though.

Thorowgood is obviously the brand name and GPD means it's a General Purpose Dressage. I.e VSD. You needed to ask the model too!
